Timber Linn Park-Albany, Oregon

This years featured festival bridge is the Weddle Bridge in Sweet Home, Oregon.

Originally constructed over Thomas Creek West of Scio, Oregon in 1937, Weddle Bridge it proudly stood for almost five decades as an important transportation and social feature of Linn County. In the early 1980’s the bridge was by-passed, as its structure could no longer support heavy traffic loads safely due to failer of a main truss. The bridge was dismantled in 1987 and the salvaged framework stored in Linn County. In 1990 the bridge was restored in Sankey Park in Sweet Home where it continues to be enjoyed and admired by the community.

The 2008 Festival will be the Seventh Annual Covered Bridge Festival and the first for being at the Timber Linn Festival in Albany.  The Festival was started when two members from the Oregon Covered Bridge Society decided to put together a festival to share their love of history and the Covered Bridges.

The festival is admission free family fun for all with:

  • Juried Arts and Crafts
  • Demonstrations such as woodcarvers, blacksmiths, flint knapping, and artists
  • Old Fashioned Childrens Games and Crafts
  • Live Music
  • $2 Mini Train Rides

And we can't forget all the delicious food booths.

Take the guided bus tour and see five of the famous covered bridges in the area. Maps are also available for self-guided tours.

We hope you will mark your calendars and come out and see a part of our living history.
