Festival History

Short-web.jpg

The 2008 Festival will be the Seventh Annual Covered Bridge Festival and the first for being at the Timber Linn Festival in Albany.  The Festival was started when several members from the Oregon Covered Bridge Society decided to put together a festival to share their love of history and the Covered Bridges.

The festival is admission free family fun for all with:

  • Juried Arts and Crafts
  • Living History Displays which include Civil War re-enactments and Blacksmiths
  • Demonstrations such as woodcarvers, flint knapping, and artists
  • Baking Contests for adults and kids
  • Old Fashioned Childrens Games and Crafts
  • Live Music
  • Free Mini Train Rides
  • Auction of Covered Bridge Commemorative Coins and Original Artwork

And we can't forget all the delicious food booths.

Take the guided bus tour and see six of the famous covered bridges in the area. Maps are also available for self-guided tours.

A Festival Poster and Wine Label Contest is held in the Spring of each year to be used at the Festival.  The 2007 winning Festival Poster was designed and created by Barbara Seales of Aumsville.  The 2007 Wine Label winner was Chris Leedham of Salem.
